Forbes released its monthly list of the world’s richest billionaires on Monday (August 4). Amid a rally in tech companies in financial markets, the headline news this month is Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who has jumped from tenth place to sixth. Huang’s wealth increased significantly by $17 billion (R$93.5 billion) in July, thanks to a 14% increase in Nvidia’s share price. The company also became the first semiconductor company to reach a market capitalization of $4 trillion (R$22 trillion).
All members of the top 10 are men and have a combined wealth of more than $138 billion (R$759 billion). The increase in billionaires in August largely reflects the strong performance of technology stocks in the stock market, with companies such as Nvidia, Meta and Google leading the way.
