Indian Railways has started a great facility for the passengers of Vande Bharat Express. Now passengers can book tickets online even just 15 minutes before the train leaves. This new facility is very beneficial for those who have to travel suddenly.
This facility has currently been started for selected Vande Bharat trains of South Railway Zone, which include trains of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to be implemented across the country soon.
Why was this facility introduced?
Indian Railways has taken this step to provide better facilities to the passengers and to make proper use of the vacant seats of the train. Earlier, when the train left its starting station, people traveling from intermediate stations were not able to book tickets even if the seats were vacant. This caused inconvenience to the passengers and also caused loss to the railways. This new facility will increase the income of the railways and passengers will also get the option to travel at the last moment. Currently, 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are running across the country, connecting big cities with modern facilities.
What is the new rule?
After this change, now passengers can book tickets from any intermediate station even after the train has left the starting station, up to 15 minutes before the departure of the train. This facility is a big step from the railways which gives priority to the convenience of passengers.
How to book tickets from IRCTC app 15 minutes in advance?
The process is extremely simple and you can easily do it from your mobile phone:
1. Open IRCTC app or website: First of all, open the official app of IRCTC in your mobile or visit their website.
2. Log in: Log in with your existing account. If you don’t have an account, create a new one.
3. Fill in travel details: Select ‘from’ station, ‘to’ station and travel date for your journey.
4. Select Vande Bharat Express: Select Vande Bharat Express from the list of trains.
5. Check Seat Availability: Check seat availability in your preferred class (Executive or Chair Car).
6. Make Payment: Make payment by choosing one of the payment options (e.g. UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card).
7. Receive Ticket: Once the payment is successful, your ticket will be booked and you will get e-ticket on mobile.
