UPI Payment without PIN: If you frequently forget your UPI PIN, then there is no need to worry anymore. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced a new method of making payments. You will not need to enter the PIN to use this method.
Actually, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced biometric verification for UPI payments at the Global Fintech Fest 2025 in Mumbai. After this facility is rolled out across the country, there will be no need to enter the PIN to make payments. Now users will be able to make payments just with fingerprint or face recognition. This feature is being implemented from today.
How will payments be made?
Until now, payments using UPI required entering a 4- or 6-digit secret code. However, now payments can be made using just your phone’s camera or fingerprint scanner. According to a Reuters report, this change will be made using biometric data stored in the country’s Aadhaar system. This means that when making payments, you’ll only need to authenticate with your fingerprint or facial recognition.
UPI Payments Will Be Faster
This feature will be a boon for those who struggle with remembering their PINs. The elderly, in particular, will benefit the most. According to sources, this feature will initially be available to select banks, and then gradually all users will be able to use it. In Digital India, everything depends on time. Therefore, this feature will save users a significant amount of time when making UPI payments.
Digital payments are projected to grow by 35 percent in fiscal year 2024-25, driven largely by women and consumers in smaller cities. “How Urban India Pays 2025,” a report by Kearney India and Amazon Pay, states that 89 percent of women prefer digital payment methods for online purchases, having previously relied primarily on cash.
Indian Salary Hike : After Diwali bonus, now it’s time for increments, bumper salaries will increase in these sectors next year.
