UP School Holidays: Due to continuous rain in Uttar Pradesh since Sunday, orders have been issued to keep schools, colleges and other educational institutions closed in many districts.
The weather has changed in Uttar Pradesh. If people are to be believed, they are now getting to see the monsoon season in August. Most of the districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur are receiving heavy rainfall since Sunday. In some places, waterlogging or flood-like situation has arisen due to continuous rain since 03 August 2025. In view of such a situation, senior officials and education department of various districts of UP have issued orders to keep the schools closed.

That is why keeping in mind the weather and the weather department’s alert, orders for holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday were given in advance in most schools. This will not cause any kind of trouble to the children and parents. Heavy rain not only increases the traffic problem, but the risk of accidents and ill health also doubles.
UP Prayagraj Varanasi Flood: This week we got relief from packing our bags
It has been raining intermittently since Sunday in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Sitapur, Jalaun, Aligarh, Kanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain for these districts for the next few days. In Prayagraj, the water of the Ganges has reached people’s homes. Due to drainage problems in some localities, water has filled up to several feet. In view of this, the district administration has decided to close all schools in Prayagraj from 5 to 7 August.
The order is applicable to every school
The holiday order will be applicable to all schools from pre-primary to 12th class. Jalaun and Lakhimpur Kheri district administration have also declared holidays in schools from pre-primary to 8th class on 5th and 6th August. The order to keep the school closed will be valid for government, aided, recognized and all private schools. In view of heavy rains in Aligarh, Sitapur and Kanpur, it has been decided to close the schools for 5 August 2025 (Tuesday).
Tomorrow will be a holiday too
All schools from class 1 to 8 in Sitapur and from nursery to 12th in Aligarh and Kanpur are closed today. In view of heavy rains and flood situation, it has been decided to close all schools up to 12th in Varanasi on 5th and 6th August. Schools will also remain closed in Siddharthnagar, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Mirzapur, Sambhal, Barabanki, Bhadohi, Bareilly, Moradabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Ghazipur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Etah, Rampur, Badaun, Bahraich and Amroha.
