In Himachal Pradesh, the Sukhu government is continuously closing down government schools. Now in the latest orders, the government has closed 100 schools and merged 120.
Orders have been issued to close these schools with zero enrollment and less than five students. The schools to be closed include 72 primary and 28 middle schools. Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar has issued a notification in this regard.
The orders issued by the government on Tuesday stated that the state cabinet meeting had approved the closure of schools.
According to the data, the maximum number of 25 schools have been merged in Mandi and 13 primary schools have been merged. Similarly, 12 primary and 14 middle schools have been closed in Shimla. It is worth mentioning that in the last two and a half years, 1420 schools have been closed and merged by the Sukhu government. On the other hand, the children of the schools closed and merged will be admitted in the merged schools. In such a situation, there will be no impact on the admission of children.
Children will learn on Bag Free Day…
On the other hand, now there will be a Bag Free Day once a month in government schools of the state and during this time children will be taught the Pahari dialect. According to government orders, children will not bring bags on Saturdays and will converse with teachers in the local dialect.
This decision has been taken as per the National Education Policy. Instructions in this regard have been given by the Directorate of School Education on Tuesday. It is worth noting that the hammer of the Sukhu government has not only fallen on schools, but also on many other government offices. In the last two and a half years of tenure, the government has also denotified thousands of government offices opened during the Jairam regime.
