Heavy Rain Alert: Many states of the country may receive heavy rains within the next 48 hours. According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many states of the country from today i.e. 30th July to the first week of August.
Due to the effect of low pressure area over north-west Madhya Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan, heavy rains may occur in many other areas including western Madhya Pradesh and northern Gujarat.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places with extremely heavy rainfall at some places is likely over West Madhya Pradesh during the next 3-4 days.
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places over Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Madhya Maharashtra and West Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat region, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Odisha, Punjab, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Vidarbha.
Heavy to very heavy rains may continue over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya for the next 7 days. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely over East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during July 30-31, while heavy to very heavy rains may occur at some places over West Madhya Pradesh today.
Heavy to very heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Ar unachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next 7 days from August 1. Rainfall activity is likely to decrease over Southern Peninsula during the next 6 to 7 days and over Central India from August 1.
