Transactions with customers will be completely closed in the post offices of 22 postal divisions of Bihar on August 2 (Saturday).
After the Sunday holiday on August 3, the Postal Department will launch its new software on August 4. Due to this, transaction work has already been stopped in rural post offices.
At the same time, there will be no transactions in sub post offices from August 1 and in head post offices from August 2. Transactions will be started with the help of new software from August 4.
Neeraj Kumar, Postal Superintendent of Bhojpur Division, said that there are a total of 29 postal divisions functioning in Bihar, in which, apart from four RMS divisions, the new software of the Postal Department has already been launched as a pilot project in three divisions, Patna Sahib, Katihar and Motihari.
It is to be launched in the remaining 22 divisions on August 4. Before this, it is necessary for every post office to have zero balance, so the process of zero balance was already started in the branch post offices and transaction work was stopped. Till now, almost all the branch post offices have been made zero balance.
All sub post offices will be zero balanced between August 1 and 2 and all head post offices will be zero balanced on August 2. After all post offices are zero balanced, the software will be launched. Let us tell you that there are two head post offices under Bhojpur Postal Division, Ara and Buxar. A total of 148 branch post offices and 28 sub post offices under Buxar Head Post Office will be affected due to this.
The new software is designed to make postal services faster, safer and digital. The Postal Department is implementing it across the country in a phased manner. Under the new software, customers will get modern facilities like UPI transactions, real-time tracking, QR code based payments and GPS tracking.
Crowd has increased in post offices due to Rakshabandhan
Due to the closure of transactions in rural post offices, the crowd in the main post offices is increasing. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, more than 500 speed posts are being booked every day. To control the crowd, the postal department is preparing to open additional counters for speed post booking.
The postal department has appealed to the customers to complete their important tasks before August or avail the new facilities after August 4. The postal superintendent said that it was to be launched earlier, but in view of Raksha Bandhan, it has been decided to extend the date to August 4.
