The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana provides annual assistance of ₹6,000 to every farmer family. The scheme was launched on February 24, 2019, and various digital services are available to address farmers’ grievances.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Yojana on Wednesday, November 19th. Under this scheme, every farmer family receives ₹2,000 directly into their bank account. A government statement issued on Friday stated that so far, more than 11 crore farmer families across the country have been provided assistance of ₹3.70 lakh crore through the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi program.
According to the government, digital fintech technologies have made it possible to implement major programs like PM-KISAN with speed and transparency. Because the scheme is linked to Aadhaar, benefits reach the right individuals directly. Furthermore, e-KYC of bank accounts, mobile apps, and the Kisan-e-Mitra platform have played a major role in delivering the scheme to farmers. The government has also launched a farmer registry to ensure farmers receive timely benefits from social welfare schemes.
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, every eligible farmer family receives financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually. This central government scheme was launched on February 24, 2019. Given the importance of the scheme, a facility for filing and resolving complaints has been provided on the PM Kisan portal and CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System). Farmers can register their problems directly on the portal and receive quick information and solutions.
A Kisan-e-Mitra chatbot has also been developed to quickly resolve farmers’ complaints. This facilitates both technical and language barriers. Farmers can ask questions in their own language. This chatbot is available in 11 major languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, Bengali, Odia, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, and Kannada. This makes it easier for farmers to understand information and resolve their problems.
