ZRUCC member Arun Joshi said that there was a demand to run Ranchi-Puri Vande Bharat in the year 2024. The demand was made in the Zonal Consumer Advisory Committee meeting in February 2025. Currently, they are demanding that Sleeper Vande Bharat should be run, so that the journey of the passengers becomes easier.

Demand to run direct train from Ranchi to Haridwar and Ahmedabad
There has been a demand to run a new train from Ranchi to Haridwar-Dehradun. This demand has been made by Satish Sinha, a member of the Consumer Advisory Committee. In this regard, South-East Railway has sent a letter to the Railway Board. Apart from this, a request has also been made to run a new train service from Ranchi to Ahmedabad. On this, South-East Railway said that recently in the Indian Railway Time Table Conference, a proposal was made to run a train between Ranchi and Ahmedabad, which was agreed upon. Still, a letter has been sent to the Railway Board from the zonal level requesting to consider running a train in the future, but the Board has not responded.
The journey will be completed in 5 to 6 hours
Currently, Tapaswini Express departs from Ranchi at 2.30 pm and reaches Puri at around 7:30 am. If Vande Bharat Express starts running, the same journey will be completed in 5 to 6 hours. And tourists will have a lot of convenience in commuting. Also, there is a large number of engineering students studying in Puri and Bhubaneswar. In such a situation, there has been a demand for Vande Bharat train especially from Ranchi to Puri.

Ranchi residents may get the gift of four more Vande Bharat trains. These three Vande Bharat trains mainly include Hatia-Bengaluru, Hatia- Raipur and Hatia-Pune. The South-Eastern Railway Board has also sent a proposal to the Central Railway Board for running these three Vande Bharat trains. The proposal for these four trains has already been sent in February this year.
