Tomorrow is August 1 and with it a new month will begin. Like every first date, this time too there are going to be some changes. This time too many financial changes are going to be implemented.
The biggest change is happening with regard to US tariffs from August 1. Tariff will be imposed on goods exported from India to the US from August 1. Apart from this, many such changes are going to happen from tomorrow which will affect the pocket, kitchen, digital transactions and travel of the common man. From August 1, there are going to be many changes related to LPG price, UPI transaction limit, credit cards etc. Let us know about them in detail-
- US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 25% tariff and additional penalty on India. The effect of this move by the US will be that goods exported from India to the US will become more expensive in the US market. For now, its impact will not be seen in the Indian market. If India increases import duty on American products, then the goods will also become more expensive in the Indian market.
- Like every month, this time too, oil marketing companies will review the price of LPG cylinders on August 1. On July 1, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 60. There was no change in the price of 14 kg cylinder. This time it is expected that the price of domestic LPG may come down.
- From August 1, the rules related to UPI usage are going to change. NPCI has made these changes to reduce the pressure on the system and keep transactions smooth. In these changes, now you will be able to check the balance only 50 times a day. Apart from this, the list of bank accounts linked to a mobile number can be viewed 25 times a day. The big change is that autopay payments like EMI, SIP or OTT subscription will be processed during non-peak hours. The status of failed transactions can be checked only three times. The name of the recipient will always be visible while making a payment, which will reduce the chances of wrong transfers.
- If you also use SBI’s co-branded credit card, then this news is important for you. From August 11, 2025, SBI will discontinue the free air accident insurance cover available on some of its Elite and Prime cards. Till now, these cards used to offer cover ranging from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
- The price of CNG and PNG is reviewed by oil companies on the first of every month. There has been no change in their price after April 2025. Their price is expected to increase on August 1.
- ATF prices are also expected to change from August 1. ATF is used in aircraft, if its prices increase then its impact can be seen on air tickets. If the price falls, passengers can get relief in fares.
- In a major step, the Election Commission has ordered door-to-door verification of voter IDs across the country from August 1, 2025. The process aims to remove invalid voter cards and make the voter list transparent. This change will increase the credibility of the election process.
