Action against Bangladeshis has intensified in Maharashtra. The state government has given orders to cancel the birth certificates of those who have made fake birth certificates in Maharashtra. Maharashtra government minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule held a press conference in this regard. Maharashtra cabinet minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Wednesday that the government has formed a task force to investigate Bangladeshis living illegally in Maharashtra.
This task force formed in Maharashtra will investigate how many Bangladeshi citizens are there in the state who have got fake certificates made. Orders have been given to cancel all the birth certificates that have been made fraudulently. The government has ordered to complete the action by August 15.

The Maharashtra government will cancel fake birth certificates of Bangladeshi citizens. State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule made this announcement on Wednesday. He said that the government will cancel more than 42,000 such fake certificates by August 15. This number may increase further, as the investigation is still going on. The revenue and health departments have been instructed to work together on this matter.
Kirit Somaiya had raised the matter
The matter came into the limelight earlier this year. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged that 3997 birth certificates were made using fake documents. These fake certificates were issued to Bangladeshi citizens. Kirit Somaiya also showed the documents for this. After his allegation, two officers posted in Malegaon were suspended.
Yogesh Kadam had released the figures
In March, Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam told the Assembly that illegal immigration had been cracked down on in the past four years. He also showed government figures. He said that 109 Bangladeshis were deported in 2021. 77 in 2022, 127 in 2023 and 716 arrests and 202 deportations have been made so far in 2024.
