The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains and strong winds in many states from August 26 to August 30. There is a possibility of lightning and thunderstorms along with torrential rains in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and other states.
The Meteorological Department has advised the general public to be cautious and take necessary preventive measures. Rains have intensified in Gujarat since the morning of August 25, which is expected to continue till August 28. At the same time, heavy rains with thunderstorms may occur in the eastern districts of Rajasthan, which may cause waterlogging and reduced visibility. Many public programs may be affected due to rain during Ganesh Utsav in Maharashtra.
The Meteorological Department has said that a yellow alert of heavy rains and strong winds has also been issued in 8 districts of Kerala from August 26 to 28. Heavy rains and strong winds are also expected in Andhra Pradesh on August 26 and 27.
Weather experts say that this year the monsoon is more active than normal, which is beneficial for agriculture, but can also increase dangers like floods and waterlogging. Therefore, the administration and the general public need to be alert.

– Uttar Pradesh: Light rains in Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi
– Northeast: Heavy rains in Assam, Meghalaya and other states, risk of floods and landslides
– Tamil Nadu-Karnataka-Kerala: Possibility of light to moderate rains
