In the recent GST Council meeting held in New Delhi, the government announced reduction in GST rates on the auto sector, due to which the prices of vehicles have come down.

Both the companies said that the new prices will be implemented from 22 September 2025. Let us tell you that from this day the government is also going to implement the new GST rates.
Hyundai reduced the price by this much
After this price revision, the Verna sedan is getting a reduction of Rs 60,640, while the premium SUV Tucson is getting a benefit of Rs 2.4 lakh. The vehicle manufacturer said that customers can expect savings between Rs 73,808 and Rs 2.4 lakh depending on the variant purchased during the upcoming festive season.
According to media reports, Hyundai Motors India Managing Director Unsoo Kim said, this reform will not only boost the automotive industry but it is also a strong step towards empowering millions of customers by making personal mobility more affordable and easier.
Tata’s commercial vehicles will benefit
At the same time, Tata Motors has also clarified that it will give full benefit of GST to its customers on its commercial vehicles. The company has reduced the price of its commercial vehicles lineup from Rs 30,000 to Rs 4.65 lakh. Earlier, the company had announced a price cut on its passenger vehicles.
Companies took steps after GST reform
It is worth noting that last week on 3rd September, the Central Government had made amendments in GST. This step was taken at a time when America has imposed a high tariff of 50 percent on India. The government says that this will increase consumption, which will give impetus to the economy. In the GST Council meeting, the government abolished the tax slabs of 12% and 28% and announced tax slabs of 18% and 5%. Most of the products related to the general public have been brought under the ambit of 5% GST.
