FASTag Annual Pass: Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the issuance of FASTag Annual Pass in June. The price of this pass issued for non-commercial vehicles will be Rs 3000, which will be effective from 15 August this month.

If you already have Fastag, will I have to buy annual pass again?
Vehicles which already have Fastag installed do not need to buy Fastag Annual Pass separately. Fastag Annual Pass will be activated in your existing normal Fastag. However, for this your Fastag should be properly affixed on the windshield of the vehicle, a valid registration number should be linked with your Fastag and it should not be blacklisted. Keep in mind that Fastag Annual Pass can be purchased only from Highway Yatra mobile app or NHAI website.
From where will the Fastag Annual Pass be activated?
To activate Fastag Annual Pass on your existing Fastag, you will have to pay Rs 3000 by visiting the Highway Yatra mobile app or NHAI website. While making the payment to activate the Fastag Annual Pass, you will have to choose this option and after the payment is completed, your Fastag Annual Pass will be activated. After the Fastag Annual Pass is activated, two accounts will be created in your Fastag. One of these accounts will be your normal Fastag account and the other account will be for the Fastag Annual Pass.
Will Fastag Annual Pass be valid at all toll plazas?
Fastag Annual Pass will be valid at all toll plazas on national highways across the country. This annual pass will not be valid at toll plazas on state highways. If you are passing through a toll plaza on a national highway, then your toll will be deducted from the Fastag Annual Pass. Similarly, if you are passing through a toll plaza on a state highway, then your toll will be deducted from the general Fastag account.
