Travelling in Delhi Metro will now become expensive. DMRC has announced to increase the Metro fares. The new fares have come into effect from today. The ticket prices have increased by a maximum of Rs 5.
There is bad news for passengers traveling in Delhi Metro. DMRC has announced to increase the fare of Metro. Fares are increasing from today i.e. 25 August 2025. The fare has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 4 depending on the distance of travel. At the same time, the ticket price for the Airport Express Line has increased by Rs 5.
DMRC itself gave information about this by posting on X and said that it has been implemented as a minimal increase. Meaning that the fare has been increased very marginally. The fares have increased from today itself and it has increased according to the distance.
Prices have increased according to distance
DMRC has informed that the fare of Delhi Metro has been increased according to the distance. On normal days, the fare for a distance of 0 to 2 km has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. The fare for a distance of 2 to 5 km has also increased by one rupee.
Apart from this, passengers will now have to pay Rs 32 instead of Rs 30 for traveling between 5 to 12 km. The fare for 12-21 km has increased from Rs 40 to Rs 43. The fare for a journey of 21-32 km will be Rs 54 and for a distance of more than 32 km, the fare will be Rs 64. Similarly, the ticket prices have been changed on the Airport Express Line as well. The increase on this line has been made from Rs 1 to Rs 5.
At the same time, the fares on Sundays and holidays have also been revised. DMRC has also increased it according to the distance. In this too, the maximum fare has become Rs 54.
