Before Rakshabandhan, the government may give a good news for central employees. According to a TOI report, it is being said that from July to December 2025, dearness allowance (DA) may increase by 3%. This means that what is currently 55% will increase to 58%. The government usually changes the dearness allowance twice a year and later makes an official announcement. Keep in mind, DA is given to government employees and DR (Dearness Relief) to people receiving pension.

DA Hike: How much will the salary increase

For example, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 40,000 and DA increases from 55 per cent to 58 per cent, then their monthly DA amount will increase from Rs 22,000 to Rs 23,200. This increase will benefit more than one crore employees and pensioners of the country. This announcement is usually made around Diwali and this time too its official announcement is expected in October or November.
