The Maharashtra government recently mandated e-KYC for its flagship scheme, the Chief Minister’s My Girlfriend Scheme. The state government launched this scheme to provide financial assistance to women in need.
This scheme aims to improve the economic status of women. Under this scheme, the government provides ₹1,500 per month to women aged 21-65 whose family’s annual income does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
When will e-KYC need to be completed?
According to the government, e-KYC under the Mukhyamantri Manjhi Ladki Bahin Yojana should be completed within two months. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said, “The e-KYC facility has been made available to all beneficiaries of the scheme on the web portal ‘ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in’. They are requested to complete the e-KYC process within the next two months.”
In a post on Instagram, she stated that the process is easy and convenient and should be completed to maintain transparency in the scheme and ensure continued benefits to eligible women. Failing to authenticate Aadhaar will result in the suspension of benefits. The state government said that beneficiaries will have to mandatorily complete the e-KYC process every year.
How to do e-KYC
You can complete the e-KYC process with these simple steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Mukhyamantri Manjhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the e-KYC option on the homepage.
Step 3: Here you will need to re-upload your documents, including name, address, ration card number, income details, and Aadhaar card details.
Step 4: Click Submit to complete the e-KYC process.
Why did the Maharashtra government make e-KYC mandatory?
The government recently reported that approximately 26.34 lakh ineligible beneficiaries, including men, have enrolled in the scheme and received the monthly allowance. According to government data, 2.25 crore women will receive the money under the scheme, which was launched in July 2024.
