How to join NPS through the new website

1 – First of all users have to visit the official website of the pension regulator www.pfrda.org.in.

2 – After this, go to the ‘Quick Link’ section on the homepage and click on ‘Join NPS’.

3 – After this another site will open, you have to continue it.

4 – After this, click on Points of Presence.

5 – Then click on continue for registration. After this, enter the requested information.

6 – After online registration and uploading documents you can start your contribution.

Know about National Pension System

National Pension System (NPS) is an optional retirement savings scheme. It is regulated by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). In this scheme, you can invest regularly during your working age. At least 40 percent of the corpus accumulated in this way has to be used to buy annuity. This gives you a regular monthly income.

You can withdraw the remaining 60% in lump sum on retirement. The contribution made in NPS is invested in debt and equity as per your age and the scheme chosen. Hence, the return on the investment made in it is not fixed but market linked. The National Pension System (NPS) was launched by the government in the year 2004. It is a government scheme.
