The Meteorological Department has warned of more heavy rain in the coming days, for which ‘Red’ and ‘Orange’ alerts have been issued.

By 5:30 pm on Wednesday, good rain was recorded in various areas of Delhi. According to the data of the Meteorological Department:

➤ Highest 59.6 mm in Ridge
➤ 54.8 mm in Aynagar
Rain breaks record, temperature drops
The unusually heavy rain in Delhi this year has taken the rainfall figure this season beyond 1000 mm. Delhi had crossed its annual average of 774 mm of rain in August itself. Due to rain, the temperature in Delhi has also dropped. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was 32.3 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees below normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 22.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2.8 degrees below normal.
How will the weather be in the next few days?
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain cloudy on Thursday as well and light to moderate rain is expected. The maximum temperature may be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may be around 24 degrees Celsius. Due to rain, the air of Delhi has also become clean. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 57 at 4 pm on Wednesday, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.
