Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana was launched in 2015 to promote self-employment in the country. The aim of this scheme is to provide loans to small businessmen and street vendors to expand their businesses without any collateral.

Under this government scheme, loans were given to 52 crore people till April 2025. Under Mudra Yojana, you can take a loan of Rs 50 thousand to Rs 20 lakh to start your business or expand your business. This scheme has been a hit due to the lack of any guarantee, low interest and easy money.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan Yojana, you can take a loan through any bank, microfinance company or NBFC. Any Indian who is doing business or wants to start his own business can take a Mudra loan. There are three categories of loans under the Mudra Yojana.
