Documents required for passport collection

A photocopy of the same ID will also have to be given. If you want the processing to be quick, then you may also have to show a photocopy of the visa appointment letter. If the applicant is a minor, then a birth certificate or school ID card will be required. Parents’ ID card issued by the Government of India, on which the home address is written. A consent letter signed by both the parents is also required. A photocopy of the parents’ ID will also have to be shown.
The IDs that will be accepted by the US Embassy include the biographical information page of the passport, voter ID, driving license or Aadhaar card. Employment ID cards issued for Indian government jobs, senior citizen cards and PAN cards will not be accepted. The updated rules apply to all US visas and passport pickups in India. Although in-person passport collection has been made mandatory, you can also get your passport delivered to your home or office by spending Rs 1,200.
