Let us tell you that the Reserve Bank of India has released the complete schedule of bank holidays for August 2025. Next week the bank will be open only for three days. Bank holidays include Independence Day, Krishna Janmashtami , Patriot Day as well as weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday.

Banks will remain closed for 15 days in August

A total of 15 holidays have been fixed for the month of August , which includes Independence Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami and other regional festivals, as well as Saturday and Sunday holidays. Let us tell you that all banks in India , whether government or private , have holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, as well as weekly holidays on all Sundays. Keep in mind, holiday dates may change in different states due to regional or local reasons. Therefore, before any important work or long weekend, do check the list of their holidays from your nearest bank branch, so that preparations can be made on time.

Know when the banks will remain closed next week

  • August 13 (Wednesday) – Banks closed in Imphal (Manipur) on the occasion of Patriot Day.
  • August 15 (Friday) – Banks remained closed across the country on the occasion of Independence Day .
  • August 16 (Saturday) – Banks closed on Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8) and Krishna Jayanti in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhopal, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Shillong, Jammu, Srinagar and Vijayawada.
  • 17 August (Sunday) – Banks remained closed across India due to Sunday.

According to the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India ( RBI) and the state calendar, there will be bank holidays, however, the branches of the banks will remain closed during these holidays but digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM will continue to run smoothly as usual .
