There is good news for the women of Delhi. If you are going to become a mother or have recently become a mother, then the government is giving you financial help. For this, the central government has started the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

Now to extend the benefits of this scheme to maximum number of women, a special campaign is being run till 15th August, in which Anganwadi and Asha workers are going door-to-door and getting registration done.

Registration is being done door to door

The central government has launched a special registration campaign till August 15 for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). In this campaign, Anganwadi and Asha workers are going door-to-door to inform women about the scheme and are also registering them there. The purpose of this is that every woman who comes under the purview of the scheme can avail its full benefits on time.

What is this plan

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a woman who becomes a mother for the first time is given financial assistance of Rs 5000 by the central government. This amount is given in two installments—the first installment of Rs 3000 is given as soon as the pregnancy is registered, while the second installment of Rs 2000 is given on registration of the child’s birth.

Benefits even if you give birth to a daughter for the second time

If a woman gets pregnant for the second time and gives birth to a daughter, she again gets Rs 6000 under this scheme. This has been done especially with the aim of promoting the birth of daughters.

Which women will get the benefit

There are some important conditions to avail the benefits of this scheme. First of all, the age of the woman should be at least 19 years. Secondly, the annual income of the family should be less than Rs 8 lakh. Apart from this, those who have MNREGA card, benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, e-Shram card, BPL card or Divyang certificate, all are considered eligible for this scheme.
