Weather Update: Warning of heavy rain, lightning and torrential rain in 18 districts for 48 hours

Monsoon has become fully active in Bihar including the whole of India. Light to heavy rains are falling in different parts of the country. Waterlogging has occurred in many places, while flood-like conditions have arisen in some places.

In Bihar, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains in Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, Supaul and Madhubani on August 3. Apart from these, light to moderate rains are also expected in Patna, Begusarai, Munger, Nalanda, Gaya, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Gaya, Sheikhpura. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in these districts.

Patna became flooded due to today’s rain

Due to today’s rain, many areas of Patna were flooded, due to which people had to face a lot of problems. Life was disrupted due to waterlogging at many places in Patna’s Hathua Market, Khetan Market, Rajendra Nagar, Kankarbagh, Gardanibagh, New Market, Rajendra Nagar, some areas of Kankarbagh, Pataliputra Colony, AG Colony, Rajiv Nagar, Nepali Nagar, Krishi Nagar, Gola Road, Bibiganj Road, Judges Colony, Chitrakoot Nagar, Panchsheel Nagar, Sultanpur.

Heavy rains in these districts in the next 48 hours

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the next 48 hours may be very heavy for 18 districts of the state including Patna. Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Bhojpur, Saran, Siwan, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, East and West Champaran, Gopalganj, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj and Madhepura districts. These areas are expected to receive 65 to 115.5 mm of rainfall.

Administration is appealing to be cautious

To keep people safe during the rains, the local administration is instructing them to be cautious. They are appealing to people not to leave their homes unless it is necessary. People living in low-lying areas should be cautious. It may be noted that in the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 183.3 mm at the state level was recorded in Dhoraiya block of Banka district.
