The bank has shared some security tips to increase UPI transactions. The bank said that often cyber thugs cheat people of money by entering their UPI PIN by giving lucrative offers of lottery. In such a situation, you must be aware of some things. For example, never register the UPI PIN while taking money. Apart from this, the bank never asks you for any PIN.
UPI launched in India in 2016
UPI i.e. Unified Payments Interface was launched in India in the year 2016. Many people liked this online payment. During the Kovid epidemic, a lot of people adopted it. For the first time in October 2019, UPI Payment crossed the one billion transaction limit. After that this figure increased rapidly.
103% increase in UPI transactions
According to the data of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI transactions have registered a growth of more than 103% in the year 2020. In the year 2019, the total UPI transaction in India was close to 2 lakh 2 thousand crores.
At the same time, in the year 2020, it increased to 4 lakh 16 thousand crore rupees. In 2020, where corona was saved through online payment, people could also be saved due to the cashback offer available on every most of the payments.
Keep these things in mind while making online payment
- There is no need to enter any kind of PIN while taking money in the account from anyone. You need to be alert if someone is asking you to enter the PIN, your account may be empty.
- Cross verify the money by sending money through any UPI. This will not transfer your money to the wrong account. Along with this, never accept the request of an unknown person.
- Do not share your UPI PIN with anyone. Along with this, keep changing your UPI PIN from time to time. With this your UPI transaction will be secure.
- Always keep the phone locked. Along with this, avoid using more than one UPI.

- You can also complain on the toll free complaint number.
- Make a complaint on the online portal of the local police and the central government.
